Fun family events at Front of Yonge winter festival

For Amy Neuman, the first year of the Front of Yonge Winter Festival meant getting her feet wet.

The committee had no money and the successful event turned into a learning experience for them.

Now into its third year, the committee will get back to family roots.

“We want something for every age in the family,” Neuman told The Recorder and Times. “The main goal is to make this a family event.”

Their packed schedule for the evening of Friday, February 17 and all day Saturday, February 18, is off to a good start.

Every children's activity is free, thanks to the sponsors secured by Neuman's committee.

“There's so much going on. Little Ray's Reptile Show will be a big thing. The kids are going to love that,” she said, noting that the popular Ry Guy Magic Show that had a standing-room-only crowd last year is back.

“The Lego building contest is new this year. Pre-registration has been quite extensive, so we're expecting that to be good.”
