Here are our top 12 tips at helping you ease into College and ensuring that you have a positive and memorable experience at College:
1. Eat Healthy
Make sure you are eating foods which are low starch and unprocessed. Not only will this help you stay focused on your studies but it will also keep your energy levels up.
2. Balance your Social Life
Your studies should always be your top priority, though you also need to balance your life with friends. Assure that you balance things out
3. Are you a Morning Person or a Night Owl?
If you are not a morning person, sign up for evening classes. If you register for morning classes, you won’t go and will fall behind fast.
4. Take advantage of College Extra Curricular Activities
There are many activities on campus that are free. Take advantage of them.
5. Seek Available Tutoring Services if you need it
Many Colleges have tutor centers on campus. Take advantage of them if you are unclear about anything or need extra assistance.
6. Balance Work and School, Only if you are Able
Before you commit to a part time job, see how your first semester goes first. That way you will have an idea of how the course load will be.
7. Be Diligent with your Studying Routine
Always take notes in class and review every day at home. This will keep information processing in your brain for the long term, and keep you from cramming at the last minute, which never works.
8. Keep on Top of your Computer Security Software
Always install a firewall/antivirus software on your computer. Save your work every 30 minutes – always.
9. Keep Extra Essentials on Hand:
The more underwear you have, the less laundry you have to do.
10. Use flash cards Quiz yourself while studying.
If you are more of a visual learner, this is a great tip. Everybody learns differently and so figure out how you learn best and use certain study techniques to help with that.
11. Get some sleep!
At least 6 hours per night depending on the type of sleeper you are. Some people need more, some less. If you don’t have enough sleep you won’t sail through College like you always dreamed.
12. Live at Home: Save Money & Stress!
If you can live with your parents and go to school go for that. Campuses are expensive, can be distracting and are usually further away from your network of people. Your parents may hover over you too much, but they raised you since you were a baby! That never stops, remember that.
